Scilab is the open-source software reference for numerical computation for engineering and scientific applications. Originally based on research conducted at Inria (the French Research Institute for Computer Science and Automatic Control), Scilab software is now developed and published in an exclusive way by Scilab Enterprises Company.

In the presentation we first review the situation of Scilab software and organization. We describe the latest Scilab version, including Xcos, the user-friendly GUI-based editor for modeling and simulating hybrid dynamical systems.

Then we show how Scilab can be used for making comprehensive industrial applications using external modules including programs and user-friendly GUI. As an example, we present briefly two industrial applications.
